Cureskin Raises $20 Million in Series B Funding to Expand Access to AI-Powered Dermatological Care Across India
Cureskin, an AI-powered dermatology platform offering clinically proven skin and hair health solutions, has successfully secured $20 million in Series B funding. The funding round was led by HealthQuad, a prominent digital health-focused venture capital fund in India, with participation from existing investors such as JSW Ventures, Khosla Ventures, and Sharrp Ventures. This latest investment brings the total investment in Cureskin to $26 million, reinforcing its commitment to providing quality dermatological care to individuals across India.
With India facing a notable shortage of qualified dermatologists, many individuals struggle to access adequate skin care. Simultaneously, there is a rising demand for dermatological solutions, fueled by India’s youthful and ambitious population.
Cureskin aims to bridge this gap by utilizing AI technology to extend the reach of dermatologists. Through its mobile app, Cureskin has served over 1.5 million customers, addressing various skin and hair conditions such as acne, hyperpigmentation, post-acne issues, and hair loss. Remarkably, more than 80 percent of Cureskin’s clientele resides in Tier II and III cities, underscoring the platform’s impact on underserved regions.
Guna Kakulapati, CEO and Co-Founder of Cureskin, expressed delight at securing the backing of HealthQuad alongside existing partners. Kakulapati emphasized that the investment reaffirms the growing demand for accessible expertise and quality care to tackle skin and hair problems in India. The funds will be instrumental in enhancing Cureskin’s AI capabilities, accelerating growth, and expanding solution offerings, with the goal of providing optimal skin and hair health to millions across the nation.
Dr. Pinak Shrikhande, Managing Director of HealthQuad, highlighted Cureskin’s role in addressing the lack of access to dermatologists in Tier III+ towns and the challenge of ineffective self-treatments due to a lack of product knowledge. Shrikhande praised Cureskin’s comprehensive digital-first platform, which offers personalized skin and hair care treatments supported by AI-led diagnosis, ensuring high-quality outcome-driven regimens at affordable prices.
Sachin Tagra, Managing Partner at JSW Ventures, commended Cureskin’s exemplary execution capabilities, noting that the capital infusion will enable the company to scale operations, innovate further on AI development, and expand distribution capabilities.
Veda Corporate Advisors served as the exclusive advisors to Cureskin for the transaction.
Cureskin’s commitment to widening access to qualified dermatological care aligns with HealthQuad’s mission of addressing accessibility, affordability, and quality issues in healthcare in India. With over 70 percent of the company’s users hailing from Tier III+ locations, Cureskin remains dedicated to creating impactful solutions for the underserved population.
